A camping chair is where you actually spend your downtime outdoors, so comfort, durability, and packability all matter more than they first seem. The right chair depends on how you camp: a lightweight quad chair for car camping, a zero-gravity recliner for lounging, or a heavy-duty seat for bigger users. Weight capacity, packed size, and extras like cup holders round out the decision.
We compared the camping chairs owners rate most highly, weighing comfort, build quality, and portability across tens of thousands of reviews. Here are seven picks and the camper each one suits.
